Gabe and I first met at work. We quickly became friends and would often hang out, go to local bars after work and play soccer together. We dated on and off for about 7 years before we got engaged, clearly we were meant to be together, it just took us a while to figure it out! Gabe proposed at our home in Pittsburgh, it was very low key (but with a lot of thought put into how exactly he would pop the question) so I was caught completely off guard when he asked, which was what he was going for. We had talked about marriage but he refused to ever look at rings because he felt that took the fun out of it.

I had so much fun planning our wedding, I was all about Pinterest and creating vision boards so I could see how colors and flowers would all look together. I actually found my dress at the very first store I looked at, it was the last dress I tried on. My mom was the one who pulled it out and as soon as it was on it just felt perfect for me. It was exactly what I was looking for; simple, elegant with just a little bit of sparkle and still made a statement because of the ball gown. I actually teared up when I saw myself in it (and for those who know me I am not one to show emotion quickly). I also had a lace top hand made to wear during the ceremony, so I actually felt like I had two dresses because I had this beautiful lace 3/4 length top for the church and then when we entered the reception I had taken it off and added the belt that came with the dress, I loved that I was able to get two looks out it!
