COUPLE’S WEDDING STORY:
How We Met:
We grew up in the same hometown, attended the same high school in the same grade with the same mutual friends for four years… and yet never once cross paths! It was not until a casual yet serendipitous high school reunion party the summer after their first year of university that we actually met. We then crossed paths after few chance encounters over the next few summer breaks including in the line-up for the midnight screening of the final Harry Potter film (we’re both fans of the series!) as well as across the aisle from each other on a train ride back to our respective universities. We quickly went from near-strangers to friends. After graduation, we finally went on our first date and the rest was history!
For our 5-year anniversary, we returned to the spot where we first met up for our first date – a local playground between both of our childhood homes. Jamus recounted our best memories since that inevitable first date and then popped the question to which I undoubtedly said “yes” to! The best part? Jamus’s brother actually hid behind a nearby trash receptacle to snap some high quality shots of the whole engagement!
Dress Shopping Experience:
I stopped by a local bridal boutique and described my dream wedding gown thinking that it would be impossible to track down. Something fitted, elegant and yet a little daring and unique…was that too much to ask for?! The consultant came back immediately with the Paloma Blanca #4806, raving about the lattice lace and low-V front and back. It was the first dress that I had ever tried, but I knew the instant I put it on that this was IT – my dream dress! I added some touches of satin with a light pink ribbon to cinch the waist for a feminine yet elegant detail and it paired beautifully with the blush satin and lattice lace. I loved the way it looked and my husband’s jaw absolutely dropped when he got his first look at me in it. Thank you for the beautiful memories and the stunning design!
Wedding Day Experience: The day was an absolute dream come true. The ceremony was outside at Deer Creek Golf Course and Banquet Hall and the weather held up beautifully even though the day called for rain. My bridal party was comprised of my childhood friends who helped do everything from blotting my happy tears with tissue to zipping me up in my dress. My nephew surprised the crowd by showing up as my own person “Ring Security” (complete with badge and case), putting a hilarious spin on his “ring bearer” title. And once again, we were surprised by Jamus’s brother – this time with a heartfelt solo rendition of our song “Sure Thing” by Miguel. We laughed and danced the night away in the gorgeous Audley-Middle banquet hall, decorated with custom-cut name cards and ample amounts of greenery and baby’s breath. I’m happy to have gotten to share some wonderful memories with our friends and family and come away from it married to the most wonderful husband!
