Jon and I started dating in high school after we met in marching band (yes, we’re band geeks and proud of it!) and after dating long distance for over 7 years, and graduating from college, we got engaged! Jon and I were married in a small church by my godmother, and minister, on the most gorgeous first day of fall. It was the 66th anniversary of my maternal grandparents wedding and we couldn’t have picked a better day to get hitched! Friends and family from all around the country joined us in celebration. Everything went off without a hitch, although I was 20 minutes late–we just lost track of time! The reception was wonderful and we surprised guests with a second part to our first dance and did a tango from the movie The Mask of Zorro. A fun night was had by all, and I received so many compliments on my gown. It was simple, classic, elegant, and comfortable! I chose to add straps (strapless is just not my style), and I’m so glad I did!
