Over the course of their 6-year relationship David and Amara experienced new places by taking trips each year to somewhere they’ve never been. They visited the waterfalls at the bottom of the Grand Canyon, hiked the Asheville Appalachian’s, and swam with otters in San Diego. They also enjoy ordinary everyday moments like cooking dinner together and taking the dog for a walk or a kayak ride, which was an uncommon luxury while they dated because they mostly lived one hour apart.
For the past several summers, one constant and a favorite spot they visited was Cape Charles on the Eastern Shore of Virginia. Once you get to the town you feel like you’ve gone back in time – recently it’s become a rediscovered gem for visitors across the country and bride-to-be’s. There’s always something new to explore. The wedding venue, The Oyster Farm at Kings Creek Marina, was first and only place they contacted as they began to plan for the wedding. The inspiration was modern coastal and easy elegance. This dress matched that vision perfectly. Amara kept the dress a secret to all but her parents and sister. She didn’t realize it had pockets until her second fitting. BONUS!
They were married under a perfect October sky, and danced the night away. The town was truly the star of the wedding weekend and the dog of honor was among the highlights of the show. During their photos guests from around town thought the photographers were doing a bridal shoot for a magazine!
