Chantry and Brandon

Couple’s Wedding Story:

Brandon and I met at work, we both teach at the same school and were friends for years. Once we knew, we knew, and were engaged a year later in Port Elgin on the beach in the winter. Port Elgin is where my name comes from, and it is where I have a family cottage.

We looked at a few venues and fell in love with Cambridge Mill as our venue, because of the beautiful building and surrounding landscape. We chose our wedding day because it was the first Friday of our summer holidays, but also the date was important to me. My grandparents met during the war, and had a double wedding on July 7,1945 with her sister and husband at the same time. My grandparents have now passed, but the day will always be important as they shared 66 years happily married.

When I chose my dress, I wanted it to fit the ‘vintage’ venue, and only tried on a few dresses at Taylor’s Bridal Boutique. Once I tried this dress on, I cried. I wasn’t sure why, so I tried on another dress, and also loved it. But when I put this dress back on I cried again. I still don’t know the reason why I was so emotional over my dress, I just knew that it meant it was the one.

Our wedding day went perfectly; the dress, the music, the photographer, the venue and our family…we could not have asked for a better day.
