Tim and I met at an event called a Lock-and-Key in Pittsburgh, PA. We were both at the party to support friends recently separated from their significant others to meet new people in the Pittsburgh dating scene.
One and a half years later, Tim, along with his two sons Luke (10) and Caleb (8), proposed during a family photo session at a church courtyard in Sewickley, Pennsylvania. Tim gave me a “storybook” to read with the kids during our photos, and the storybook turned out to be a photobook, created by Tim, of our lives together. The last page of the book asked “Will you marry me?” Tim and his two sons were on one knee by the time I finished reading. Tim also had a recordable message on my dog’s collar asking me to “marry Timmy.” (My dog Rucker gave his approval!) Of course I said yes.
We married one year later at Bella Collina Mansion in Stokesdale, North Carolina. The venue was a beautiful, lakeside dream. We had beautiful weather and were able to marry on the large deck of the mansion with a view of the lake, surrounded by 80 guests – our always supportive friends and family. Tim and I had the best day ever, and every day since has been a new page in our fairy-tale.
