My brother and I grew up spending every summer at the lake – the same point where my mum spent her summers as well. It is a special place to us all. As my mum quoted in her little speech, “There have been many barefoot, sun drenched little girls who have dreamed of getting married at the point”. The day truly felt like a dream – and we know our grandparents were looking down on us giving us a sunny, calm day at the lake!
I saw Taylor for the first time in our teenage years at our neighbour’s home and since then we had remained friends. One summer we went on a little date, and the rest is history. Taylor proposed to me at the lake on the deck – in the very same spot where we signed the documents on our special day.
If anyone knows me, knows my love for flowers. The day before the wedding, one of my bridesmaids and I hand picked wild flowers on the generational farmland at the lake. We picked loupins and lilacs to add to the decor, and my favourite – lily of the valley – which Chantilly Lace was able to incorporate into my bouquet and the boutineers.
We had such a laid back and casual day, and it truly was the most fun and special day imaginable!
