My husband and I have known each other since high school…over 15 years!
We finally got engaged in Charleston, SC after seven years of dating. We knew that we didn’t want a long engagement so planned a wedding for June 6,2020.
I was in a bit of a time crunch when it came to getting a dress, I had less than 6 months! When I went shopping I couldn’t find anything that I “loved”…until one of the consultants asked if she could pull me a dress that she thought might look good on me. She sure had great taste, I knew immediately that this was the dress I wanted to get married in.
Our wedding plans came together so quickly and easily…no stress at all! And then COVID hit. Being a nurse, the next few months were chaos. Like most brides this year we had to drastically change our plans. We knew we still wanted to get married in June so had a small ceremony to officially tie the knot. We planned to have our big dream wedding in September but things hadn’t quite changed in the world so we moved forward with doing a very small wedding with just our immediate family.
We wanted to celebrate and have dinner at our wedding venue so that it felt extra special so we rented out their back patio. Our wedding venue (Steeple Hall at Mission Oak Grille) was amazing and surprised us and set up our actual venue for us…complete with flowers and decor, an arbor, special menus and wait staff…we were blown away! They turned what would have been just another nice dinner into an actual wedding for us. We were able to exchange our vows under the arbor and have a first dance with all of our family. We were truly so blessed to celebrate with our most loved ones and could not be more grateful to our amazing vendors for making our day feel so special!
