They say that from the best friendships come the deepest bonds of love, and our story is certainly rooted in that fact. We never would have imagined it then, but from sharing ourselves and our experiences, it would someday create the most powerful memory we’d ever have – falling in love.
Dom and I became friends in 2010. We not only shared our dreams, fears and jokes, we also served French fries together – working the same part-time job at McDonalds. Like any friendship, we’ve been each others cheerleader when we needed encouragement, rock when we needed stability, and shoulder to cry on when things got tough. It wasn’t “love at first sight” like some people talk about in movies, it was so much more than that. We got to know each other from the inside out and grew together in ways that may not have happened if we just began dating. We took the time to learn from one another, understand each other and because of that journey, we would someday surprisingly come to realize that all the while we were just living our own lives, we were in fact building an unbreakable connection between us.
