Bret and I have been friends since high school, but didn’t become anything special until he reached out to me while I was going to school in Santa Barbara, CA… Wanting to move to San Diego, he needed a place to stay while he checked out Southern California. I, along with my 6 female roommates welcomed him to our beach front condo in wild Isla Vista! Bret of course loved it! We spent the next couple weeks inseparable: playing beach volley ball, going to parties, concerts, swimming in the ocean, going to baseball games, laying out in the sun for hours with zero cares in the world! The definition on living our best lives. By the time the trip was up, we were in love… corny I know.. but amazingly true. 15 years later & 2 beautiful children, we are more in love than ever!
He proposed privately, just how I wanted, with a beautiful 2 carat oval engagement ring from Brilliant Earth. We always knew we wanted a destination wedding, and Tulum beach spoke to us. The wedding went seamless thanks to our amazing wedding planner at Akiin Weddings. The weather was perfect, food amazing, and the dj on point! The dress was so comfortable. Right when I tried it on I knew it was the one for my beach wedding!
