David and I met in college after working together for Residential Life at Franklin Pierce University in New Hampshire. After nearly two years of dates and friendship, we officially became boyfriend and girlfriend. Three and a half years later, a Bernese Mountain Dog Henry, a kitten, and a house later, David finally proposed during a trip to my home state of Rhode Island. One of the first items on my list after we found a venue was finding the perfect dress. I had always pictured a classic and simple dress that would be timeless. My Mikaella dress was just that! For an added twist, I paired my dress with an Enzoani cape as I had never been a fan of a veil. These two pieces gave me the classic elegance that I’ve always wanted with a little added flair for the ceremony.
We finally tied the knot on our 5 year dating anniversary and while our wedding day brought rain and some mishaps (coffee spills, incorrect colored flowers, etc.) it couldn’t have been a more perfect day. Our officiant had deep ties to the place we met as he worked for the college and has known us for many years. Our friends and family braved the drizzle as we managed to have our outdoor ceremony despite the weather. Everyone involved made our day even more magical than I ever thought possible and I am so thankful for the love we are surrounded by.
