John Colby and I had known each other since high school. It wasn’t until college that we decided to start hanging out. Two and a half years later I was surprised on our back porch with a sign reading “Sydni, will you marry me?”.
Engaged November 8, 2020, on November 12th I was headed into Thornbury to try on dresses. I tried on every dress I could but kept returning to 2282. The bow, the neckline, everything about it was exactly what I imagined for my wedding dress.
Fast-forward to April 11, 2020, due to COVID we had to cancel our large ceremony/celebration and were secretly married on this day at my home church. April 11th was too special to move to another wedding date as 28 year earlier my parents were married on that same day. I was unable to wear my wedding gown on the April 11th date but was determined to wear it for a later celebration.
In July 2020, we planned another celebration where I would wear my wedding gown and we would announce that we had gotten married previously in April. Sadly, I found out the Monday before the reception that I had COVID. We postponed once again.
Finally, March 6, 2021 we celebrated our marriage with all of our friends and family and I FINALLY was able to wear my beautiful wedding gown (Style #2282).
Thankful to be a Mikaella by Paloma Blanca and Thornbury Brides, bride.
