Mike and I met over 10 years ago through mutual friends, 5 years ago we became a couple. Mike proposed completely out of the blue, whilst on a weekend away in Paris. We were in a small Parisian restaurant and I had just ordered the cheese board. Before the goodies arrived Mike got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I was so shocked and overwhelmed with happiness I couldn’t even eat the cheese when it arrived because I was crying so much. That is saying something!
I completely and utterly fell in love with my wedding dress when I tried it on. The ladies at Lace & Grace were incredible and even though I didn’t know what type of dress I wanted, as soon as I tried 4714 I knew this was the one. What made it even more perfect is that my husband’s grandmother was Canadian and there are still strong family roots in Canada so my mother in law was thrilled to learn my dress was from Canada. It made it even more special.
Our wedding day really was incredible, we had so much fun. We loved our venue as it was different and fun, the decor is so gorgeous. The sun was shining and even though it was autumn we managed to spend time outside enjoying the sun on our faces. We laughed, cried (with happiness), danced and drank. I just wish I could go back and do it all again but in slow motion.
You will pleased to know, we went back to Paris on a mini-moon. I got the cheeseboard!
