Laurel and Ryan

Couple’s Wedding Story:

Ryan and I met at wedding, where the bride and groom were our matchmakers! We were strategically seated side by side at dinner. Dressed to impress with love in the air and drinks flowing, we chatted it up through dinner. I worked up the courage to ask Ryan, “Do you dance at weddings?” And we’ve been dancing ever since!

This fairytale wasn’t without obstacles, the biggest being that Ryan lived in Chicago, while I was in New York City. We continued talking every day since that magical wedding and consistently planned fun weekend trips to see each other. After almost a year of long distance dating and many earned airline miles, Ryan packed up a Penske truck and moved to NYC to be with me. *SWOON*

After a year of finally being together in the same city, Ryan popped the question in iconic Grand Central Station. We were engaged in January 2020 and booked our gorgeous venue in February 2020, not knowing we would be faced with a global pandemic shortly thereafter. Wedding planning was not as I had always envisioned it, but I was thrilled to say “Yes to the Dress” (behind a face mask) at Kleinfeld to my absolute dream gown! After the stress of pandemic wedding planning, we are BLESSED that we pulled off our wedding on our original date of June 5, 2021, a week after restrictions were lifted in Virginia!

We had the most beautiful, amazing day surrounded by our closest friends and family as we said “I do!” and celebrated where it all started – on the dance floor.
