Our story began in September 2016, we met and work in Galway, Ireland. Padraig and I share similar interests, enjoying life, visiting different countries and a love for animals, we now have a chorkie called Kobey.
We were very lucky to buy our first home in 2019 and in our beautiful home during the first Covid lockdown in May 2020, Padraig proposed to me and I said yes in our beautiful home. We contacted our families with the good news via video call as we were unable to visit due to government restrictions. However we enjoyed our new engagement in our back garden in the summer sun.
In September 2020, I visited The Wedding Boutique in Oranmore, Co. Galway with my mother and two sisters. It was the first and only wedding boutique I went to. Nataliya the owner of The Wedding Boutique was very knowledgeable and made the appointment very enjoyable. Nataliya advised to try on dresses that I thought best suited me, I thought a fitted dress with sleeves would be the best style for me however after trying on several fitted dresses, even though beautiful styles, they felt heavy and I did not feel these dresses were right for me. Nataliya asked if I wanted to try on a ball gown dress, I said I’ll try this style on but I didn’t think this style would suit me. I went into the dressing room to try on Paloma Blanca 4904 ball gown dress. I stepped into the beautiful gown, when I pulled the dress up. I looked in the mirror and was pleasantly surprised, the lace on the bodice was the most beautiful I had ever seen and the skirt was just flawless and it had pockets. When Nataliya opened the curtains for me to walk out to my mother and two sisters, butterflies in my tummy started to happen. I felt like a real life princess. There was tears of happiness from my Mother and two sisters. Nataliya matched the dress with a stunning veil with lace at the trim to match the lace on the bodice of my wedding dress. As our wedding venue was in Kilronan Castle, Ballyfarnon, Co. Roscommon, my wedding dress was the perfect dream dress for our dream wedding venue.
I had arranged with Nataliya for my future Mother in Law and future sister in law to visit her beautiful wedding boutique before I said yes to the dress. They all fell in love with my beautiful wedding dress. It was perfect, the white lace with nude underlay bodice with a large skirt with pockets and amazing train. I knew this was my dream wedding dress. Nataliya was so amazing and ordered my dress from Paloma Blanca in September 2022, as my wedding date was May 2022. She put in a request for my dream dress to be shipped from Canada to Ireland in September 2022. On collection of my wedding dress, Nataliya made me feel like a princess, I tried on my wedding dress and took photos on my phone so I could look at them later and gave me great tips on how to keep my wedding dress crease free up until the wedding day. My wedding dress was laid out on the best sheets in our spare double bed for 6 months and no one was allowed to enter the room.
After alternations were completed and the wedding day came I couldn’t wait to get into my dream wedding dress. Walking down the aisle was the best feeling in the world in my dress with my dad beside me, smiling as I walked up to my future husband. Our wedding day was one of the best days of both my husband and I’s lives. I am so happy to share our short wedding story and few photographs from our special day with you.
