Martina and John

Couple’s Wedding Story:

John and I met in New Zealand when Ireland were playing the All Blacks in 2012. Both Irish and living in Sydney at the time, we delighted our friends & family returning back home to settle in Ireland in 2017. John proposed on the beach in the sunny south east of Ireland in the seaside town of Rosslare having asked my Dad for my hand in marriage the day before. It was a special spot as I spent every summer as a child holidaying there. We planned our wedding for the Summer of 2020, but it was not to be due to the pandemic. However, we did not let that stop us. With a lot of iterations of guest lists, revised church and venue we defied all the odds and managed to marry on December 10th 2020. We found a beautiful church in St Stephens Green in Dublin, Newman University Church who managed to stream the wedding live on YouTube for us. This meant a lot as my sister was in Sydney and could not travel back. Instead she was booked into the Intercontinental Hotel in Sydney, bottles of champagne on tap and glued to the screen. She even organised a surprise poem to be read out by my mother in law at the church. It was amazing knowing that all our family and friends could tune in and watch us get married. We celebrated afterwards in the gorgeous 25 Fitzwilliam Place. This is a beautiful Georgian building with a lot of history. The food, the service and stunning decor all made the whole experience just perfect. We had reduce our numbers from 300 to 25, and I can honestly say we enjoyed every moment. My bridesmaid are my best friends, and they helped me choose my dress. As soon as I walked out in 4888 they saw my face just knew it was the dress for me. It was a classic style and had a real hint of elegance. And the biggest bonus of all… it had pockets!!
