We met in architecture school, Zach was a no show for the first two weeks. I had an empty chair next to me in both my back to back four hour classes (8 hours total). One day Zach decided to show up and sat in the only chair that was available, the one next to me. He asked if he could borrow my notes, which I said no to, lol. After the first four hour class, I walked into my second four hour class and guess who is sitting in the seat next to mine, again, Zach. He made a joke about how I was clearly stuck with him and we slowly developed chemistry that could not be ignored. He actually asked me out on Valentine’s Day for a date, but I already had a date, which I was not very thrilled about. Even so, Zach still brought me a rose to class, the whole day, even on my Valentines Day date, I could not stop thinking about Zach. Shortly after, we had our first date we could not be apart. Two cats, two cross country moves and six cross country drives later, in March 2019, Zach took me on a beautiful hike in NY state up to Kaaterskill Falls and while I was taking pictures of the falls, he dropped down on one knee behind me. I, of course, said yes.
Finding my dress was the most surprising experience. I’m a very outdoorsy person so I was a little nervous that I would not find a dress that fit my personality the right way. I was looking for something that wasn’t too ballgown-ish but at the same time, I wanted to feel beautiful. The second I put on my dress I knew it was the perfect one. It also fit perfectly which was, in a way, a sign to me. Even after going back to the bridal boutique and trying on other dresses for a second time, I could not get my dress out of my head. When I put it on for the second time, I knew it was the one.
