We met online through a dating app called The League in Toronto. I took a chance to date someone not of my Catholic faith and boy was I not disappointed. Vishal is Hindu but he encapsulates every thing strong women would want in a partner. Loving, unconditionally caring, forgiving and not to mention handsome!
It was a rocky road for us navigating an interfaith relationship with my family but at the end of the day love conquers all. We went ahead with our micro wedding regardless of the lockdowns thrown our way and made it a point to support local Canadian businesses in our wedding (inclusive of Paloma Blanca – I knew I wanted to wear Toronto designer). I am glad that we did because my dress was stunning and fitted my personality perfectly. The day of our wedding was MAGICAL even though it was a micro wedding to the extreme (the lockdown restrictions were out of our control) with only 10 people in attendance.
We had our 10 closest family members inclusive of our bridal party in attendance. The church ceremony through our mini reception was beautiful and intimate. We were initially schedule to have a 200 person wedding at the W Hotel and be the first couple to have the first wedding there! Regardless of the circumstances a 10 person wedding being our family core was there and we wouldn’t have it any other way. Toronto, our favourite city, celebrated with us with TTC buses honking, cars and random strangers cheering us on as we were taking our pictures in Yorkville. The best day of my life with the best involved in the wedding industry to guide us through. The pictures speak for themselves!
