Adam and I met in high school so we have have been together for 13 years. We had the most amazing wedding – my dad bagpiped the wedding party in and out of the ceremony, we had charcuterie boards instead of flower centrepieces (my mom’s side of the family is Italian), we danced our first dance outside to magical sparklers, and we had a 7 piece wedding band – saxophone and trumpets and all. It was beyond our expectations.
Finding my dress was one of my favourite parts about the whole wedding experience. I was lucky enough to be able to bring my mom and two grandmothers wedding dress shopping with me. I wasn’t expecting to find a dress that day, I more wanted to just get a feel for what I wanted. I was doing one last lap around the store when I saw my dress. When I felt the fabric and weight of it, it was so much more rich than anything I had tried on. When I put that silky gown on I knew right away it had to be my dress. I loved every last detail of it – the deep dramatic front, the lapel detailing, the sparkle of the straps, and the jewels down the back. When I was told it was a dress made in Canada then that sealed the deal completely. I was so proud to be wearing a dress made in Canada on my special day.
