Gabriela and Christian

Christian and I met in high school, and started dating in Grade 12, and almost six years after that, he surprised me by proposing in the very wee hours of the morning. We planned our wedding to be Christmas-themed, as it was in December and Christmas has always been such a special time for us and our families.

Because we were getting married in the winter, I really wanted to have a dress with sleeves. I had tried on many dresses, but I didn't get "the feeling" until I tried on my dress. I had booked an appointment at a small boutique on a whim, went to the appointment by myself, and was not expecting to find my dress there. But when I put it on, I didn't want to take it off. I couldn't stop smiling. My consultant brought over a rose gold belt to match my ring, a cathedral-length veil, and a soft fur shawl to keep me warm outside, and I knew in an instant it was the one. Because I wasn't expecting to find my dress that day, I initially left the store without it, but frantically called and sent photos to my mom, dad, and best friend. Sure enough, a few hours later, I went back to the store and took the dress home with me.

Our wedding day was the most magical and love-filled day we could have dreamt of having.
