COUPLE’S WEDDING STORY:
We both met when we were in college at North Central College in Naperville, IL. We worked in the admissions office and Jack helped me open a box when I was having a hard time. We got engaged in front of that building three years later!
My family and I are originally from Connecticut, but we have lived in Illinois for years. I have worked at Veiled In Elegance as a bridal consultant for almost three years, so it meant so much to me that I could find my dress at Veiled In Elegance. I was that much more excited that I fell in LOVE with a Paloma Blanca gown! I was the first bridal consultant to open the sample gown of 4655 when we first got it in the shop! Just like it was love at first sight for Jack and I it was love at first sight with me and 4655! A few months later trying on gowns I had a feeling that would be my dress! From the second I put it on I knew that was true! I customized the gown by adding covered buttons down the train! The French Chantilly Lace, seam lines, and sexy illusion and mermaid fit won me over instantly! I loved my dress more with every alterations appointment!
On my wedding day I didn’t want to take it off! My husband loved my dress too. I cried tears of joy through the entire ceremony, Jack being Jack used his pocket square to catch my tears during the ceremony. My maid and matron of honor had a constant run of tissues throughout the day. Jack and I only had eyes for each other that day. Throughout our first dance we only remember seeing each other. When I was coming down the aisle I was crying so hard I could barely see Jack! He saw my silhouette through the double doors as I was coming down the aisle and lost it.
Our wedding song was “From The Ground Up” by Dan and Shay. We chose it because of the lyric ,”I’ll be your shelter through the wind and the rain.” My husband says he didn’t see anyone else all day.
Being surrounded by our friends and family made the day that much more special. The priest who married us is Fr. Chris Keenan, the chaplain for the FDNY, where my uncle is a fire fighter. Fr. Chris’ life has been defined by selfless love and sacrifice. Our goal for our marriage was that we be an unjudgemental, welcoming place for our friends and make the world a better place; we personalized our wedding ceremony to embody that.
Jack played baseball in college and is a die-hard Chicago Cubs Fan. Haleigh’s family are die-hard Yankees fans. Because of this we had a baseball themed reception. Haleigh’s grandpa grew up in the same neighborhood as Yankee Stadium, which brought the theme full circle. Our guests signed a home plate that was a gift from Haleigh’s bridesmaid Jennifer in place of a guest book.
We had so much fun dancing and celebrating our love with our closest family and friends. It was truly the best day ever and made the craziness of wedding planning worth it! Thank you to Paloma Blanca for making such beautiful gowns so brides feel their most beautiful on their wedding day!
