Hannah and Ben

September 15, 2023

We first met at work, both as youth workers supporting young people to engage in positive activity and reduce anti-social behaviour. Definitely not love at first sight but Ben is super persistent and it only took one date for me to realize how silly I’d be to let him go. We were thrown into lockdown a year into the relationship and still living separately, we both realized how lost we were without each other and luckily Ben got a ring on my finger Christmas Day 2020 after cancelled proposal plans in our favourite place the lakes and Disney world (which we made up for and honeymooned there).

Wedding planning was manic. In 12 months we both changed jobs, bought a house, renovated the house and got married. We’re both ready for a quiet life now with lots of dogs (which Ben snuck into the marriage vows).

Finding the dress was magic. The girls at Bethany Hannah were truly incredible, I felt so looked after and Ann their tailor couldn’t have done enough for me. My maid of honour, Joe, picked my dress out at Bethany Hannah thinking it would be funny because it was so unlike anything I’d pictured. When I came out no one was laughing and couldn’t think of any other dress. Our wedding day was perfect, no soft smiles in sight and laughing from the minute i got to the top of the aisle until gone midnight. Our friends and family want to do it all over again and I would if I didn’t have to plan it!
