Isabella and Ryan

August 8, 2020

Ryan and I were both college swimmers (Boston College for me and Harvard for Ryan), and because of that we had many mutual friends through the swimming world. We met on Bumble in September of 2016 and pieced together all of our connections later on. We were even at a couple of the same college parties!

My entire family lives in Italy, and Ryan jumped on the opportunity to travel abroad for the first time to meet them only a few months into dating. The trip confirmed that we were meant to be - we even ran into our favorite artist, Post Malone, at the Pantheon at 11 PM at night while eating gelato.

After 3 years of dating, Ryan popped the question in a photo booth in downtown Boston. He even had a guitarist waiting outside the booth playing our favorite Post Malone song (which isn't very romantic and probably was very confusing to onlookers!) Wedding planning went smoothly until COVID-19 hit in March. For a while we thought our August 8th wedding would be safe, but 30 days out our venue had to cancel on us due to government restrictions on gatherings and we had to re-plan an intimate backyard wedding from scratch. It was a stressful process, but in the end we would not have changed a thing. It all became worth it when I put on my dress and Ryan and I had our first look.
