I'm so excited to share a few moments from our wedding day, and the story behind finding my dream dress: a custom Mikaella gown that made me feel confident, elegant, and completely myself.

How We Met:
Dan and I first met through a mutual friend in 2014. A year later, we reconnected and fell in love. Over the years, we’ve supported each other through post-secondary studies, building a business together, and renovating our first home. In August 2023, after eight years together, Dan proposed during a weekend getaway to Niagara-on-the-Lake at our favourite vineyard, Two Sisters. It was romantic, intimate, and perfect in every way.
On June 6, 2025, we were married at The Pearle Hotel - a stunning waterfront venue in Burlington, Ontario. Our theme was “wild vintage elegance,” with white and green wildflowers, and vintage gold accents woven throughout. It was a magical day; some guests even described it as “Bridgerton-esque.”

Finding My Dress:
Supporting Canadian designers was a priority for me from the beginning. Mikaella immediately stood out for its quality, timeless silhouettes, and customization options. When I tried on the dress, I felt truly beautiful and confident, and I knew it was the one.
The draped bodice was incredibly flattering, and the exposed boning back detail added the perfect modern touch. My bridal consultant contacted Mikaella right away to ask if the gown could be ordered in charmeuse satin with off-the-shoulder straps, and you made it happen! The first time I tried it on with the customizations, it felt like it had been made just for me. I paired my dress with a delicate chantilly lace trim cathedral length veil, made by designer Harriett Falvey. On my wedding day, I felt more confident in my own skin than I ever have in my 28 years of life - the dress was truly meant to be.
During our first look, Dan was speechless. He’d suspected my dress would have a sleek, understated elegance, but he said it was more stunning than he could have imagined. All day he kept telling me how beautiful I looked, how incredible the dress was, and how perfectly ME it felt.

I also want to say how amazing the team at Mikaella was to work with from start to finish. I appreciated the willingness to accommodate my vision; the care and attention to detail throughout the process made me feel incredibly valued as a bride. Having a designer truly listen and bring my ideas to life meant the world to me. Choosing a Mikaella gown was one of the best decisions I made, I truly couldn’t have imagined a more perfect dress.
