Jocie and Riley

We both grew up on Cape Cod and actually met in high school in the fall of 2006! Through sharing classes and mutual friends, we became closer and our friendship quickly grew into love. Through the years we have both continually fallen more and more in love with each other. Now we've been living together in NYC for about 8 years, traveling the world, and sharing many adventures together.

In the fall of 2019 when we were visiting out home town for Thanksgiving, we went to take a sunset walk on the beach as we always try to make time to do. As the sun went down, the sky ignited in the most BRILLIANT sunset I've ever seen in my life, and Riley went down on one knee and proposed with the most breathtaking ring he had designed and had custom-made. Even though we had been together for so long, the moment still caught me by surprise because everything about the afternoon and evening had just felt so natural -- just like our love!

We quickly got to planning our wedding and set a date: New Year's Eve 2020... but of course the pandemic hit and life had other plans for us. After two very disappointing postponements (Omicron got us all RIGHT before the second date ughhhh), we seta new SUMMER date, which in the end felt like it was meant to be. All our guests got to enjoy Cape Cod in all of its beautiful summer glory, we had the most PERFECT weather I could have ever dreamed of, and the romance, emotion, and anticipation was of course just through the roof after such a long awaited celebration. We even waited to get *officially* married until all of our loved ones could be there in person to share that magical moment with us.

I had found my dress pretty soon after the proposal when I was in town again for the holidays-- originally I had picked a more winter-appropriate one, but when the second postponement happened, I kept thinking of the beautiful and perfect summertime dress I had tried on wayyy back when that I kept saying "If we were getting married in the summer, THIS would be the dress!" So I called the boutique and sent them photos of this one, and fortunately it was still available for order! I was so overjoyed and trying it on again, I was just amazed at how perfect it was for me.

We had the most beautiful wedding celebration and there literally wasn't a dry eye in the room for the ceremony. It all came together more perfectly than we ever could have hoped, and I can't stop looking at our photos and loving how beautifully my dress fit my personality and the romantic, fairytale vibes of the day.
