Andrew and I met in college. My sorority was hosting a philanthropy sand volleyball tournament, and I was assigned to coach his fraternity's team. I scraped my knee after a long day of volleyball, and Andrew, a former Eagle Scout, got his first aid kit and bandaged my cut. It was the beginning of a great friendship and, eventually, our love story. Andrew and I remained friends throughout college and attended many date events together, but we never made it "official". After graduation, Andrew took a job in construction project management and moved across the country and I stayed home to attend graduate school in Chicago. We lost touch for a few years, both going our separate ways to focus on our careers. In 2016, I accepted a residency position at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, TX. I had no idea where that was, but I was excited to live somewhere warm and near a beach. I received a call from a friend of mine a few months later telling me that Andrew also moved to the Galveston area for work. After much contemplation, I texted Andrew and asked him to meet me for dinner. The rest, as they say, is history. Galveston will always hold a special place in our hearts. On June 28th, 2024, we got married on the same date as my parents and grandparents. We were blessed with good luck as the rainy weather altered our plans of an outdoor ceremony, but the natural light and wonderful company of our friends and family made our ceremony everything we ever dreamed of! It was the best day!
