David and I first saw each other 11 years ago in West Cork then met again on our first day in University before our first lecture. Eventually we ended up getting together and have been together for 10 years ever since. When we got engaged, we knew we had to get married where we first started going out and where my parents got married, in UCC!

Our wedding was simply fantastic and a very happy day for both of us. We were thrilled to be surrounded by our close family and friends. We were also very lucky to have such a helpful bridal party. My maid of honour has been my best friend for as long as I can remember and was 5 months pregnant on our wedding day. You wouldn’t know it, she helped me with everything and stayed up until 3am (the longest out of any of the bridesmaids!). We both had a fantastic hen and stag (mine was in Kinsale, his was in Berlin) and are very lucky to have such great friends.

We had a sea theme at the wedding (since David is from near the sea in West Cork), held our reception in Dunmore House, Clonakilty overlooking the ocean and got a Volkswagen cream van as our wedding car which was great fun. We took our wedding photographs around University College Cork and outside an old school bar in Clonakilty where the grooms party had pints of Guinness and us ladies had prosecco.

We both had a late night celebrating our wedding with our family and friends (we kept going until 4.30am) with plenty of singing and dancing. The day and night felt like a dream and we are both so happy to have found each other.
