Markie and Chris

September 26, 2020

Chris and I met almost 6 years ago thanks to Markie’s older sister, who was dating (and is now married to) Chris’s best friend, who’s name is also Chris! Chris and Chris are best friends, so it was a perfect match from the start!

Chris proposed in the most romantic forest in Door County, Wisconsin right after a fresh snow fall. We had our brand new puppy with us for what I thought was just a Saturday morning hike, little did I know what Chris had up his sleeve!

We were supposed to get married May 2, 2020 in downtown Milwaukee with a black-tie optional, formal big wedding, but Covid had different plans. After postponing our wedding twice, then realizing the wedding we had planned was not going to be realistic nor safe, we pivoted to our back up option of eloping. We planned and executed the whole elopement in about a month, and the day turned out more amazing than we could have ever dreamed!

We said “I do” in front of 16 of our closest family and friends, and everyone went above and beyond to make the day feel so special for us. I would do it all over again the same way in a heartbeat, it was the most amazing silver lining to a hard year.
