I work for a very fashion forward bridal company and I see every type of gown you can imagine. I spent months looking through magazines and Pinterest looking for the perfect “not-so-bridal” wedding gown. Our venue was far from the European style venue with large chandeliers and fancy patterned carpet. It was overlooking the ocean on the coast of NJ and I needed a dress to go with the modern interior, floor to ceiling windows, and stunning view. Simple and beautiful! I never thought it was possible to find this in a wedding gown since lace, embroidery, and detail is so very in right now. I would literally search Pinterest for “high neck long sleeves crepe gown”. It wasn’t until flipping through an issue of Brides where I spotted an ad for a Mikaella gown, style 2115. I was in awe of the sleek lines and simplicity of the gown and I needed more!! When browsing the collection I came across 2105 and knew THIS was my gown. I found a local store that carried Mikaella, never imagining they would be carrying this long sleeve gown. They in fact did, and as soon as it came in, I tried it on. I was the first to try on the gown and it was one of only 3 gowns I tried on in my whole dress shopping experience (one other being style 2115). I ordered it that day and the rest is history.

I made some customizations to the gown like adding the back strap across the shoulders because I had the back lowered. I also had the embellishments on the belt removed because like I said, I seriously wanted simple. Being able to do these things made it so ME. This gown is the most beautiful “blank canvas” because you can truly make it your own. I’ve NEVER seen another bride wear a gown even remotely close to as classic as my gown and I received so many compliments. This gown is ALL about the bride because it lets her shine, while being so so stunning and unexpected. It was the easiest and best decision I made, besides marrying my now husband!!
