Dustin and I met on a playground just before middle school. We became friends in our small town school. Fast-forward a few years later to high-school and we finally put it together. A long conversation uncovered the truth: He thought I was out of his league, and I thought he was really cute and so very kind. We had been crushing on each other since the day we met. We couldn’t believe it but at 15 I couldn’t imagine happier news!

We dated for 7 years before he popped the question. We had grown so much together from our 15 and 17 year old selves and I told him that Valentines Day that “You know what? I’m ready to marry you.” He surprised me just a month later on our first vacation together when he asked me to be his wife on top of a mountain in Colorado. (Echo Lake) He knew, that out of our extensively planned trip, it was the thing I was most excited to see. I looked over this grand gorgeous landscape and turned around to see him down on one knee with the most beautiful ring inside a navy velvet lined box. I was in complete surprise and of course I Said Yes! I thought that was so sweet and the whole ride down from the mountain I couldn’t stop thinking about how lucky I was to have him. It became real to me as I stared at the gorgeous ring on my finger that none of the “things” that came with getting married would be as meaningful or important as the man I was marrying.

Our dream wedding quickly took shape and came together so quickly we decided to move it up almost a whole year! At the end of April, I started shopping for my September wedding dress. I was worried I wouldn’t be able to find my perfect dress in that short of time, or that I wouldn’t know like every other bride says they do, when they have tried on The One. After trying on over 30 gowns I had my “The One” moment in this stunning and comfortable Paloma Blanca gown. It was soft and flattering and it photographed better than any of my other top picks. Best of all, it was perfect AND in my budget. It was an easy pick for me!

Mine and Dustin’s first look told me everything I needed to know. It was emotional and teary and so perfect. Our ceremony was officiated by our best friends and some our favorite people spoke and toasted! The day went (almost) flawlessly and our families helped to pull together a wedding better than I could have dreamed of. It was the most magical day of our lives yet.
