After attending our fair share of big Greek weddings here in Toronto, we decided to do something different and get married in Rethymno, Crete, Greece - the hometown of my grandfather (mom's side). It was so special to be able to celebrate our big day with him in a place that holds a very special place in his heart. The whole day ended up being more perfect than we ever could have imagined! We did things traditionally and had Cretan musicians lead me and my family/friends through the cobblestone paths of old-town Rethymno to the church, where my groom and his family waited on the steps - this was one of the most magical moments of my life and is forever etched vividly in my memory. We were also completely blown away by the love that surrounded us on our big day - we never would have imaged that 150 family members and friends would be celebrating with us in Greece, the vast majority of which came all the way from Toronto, Canada!!
