Dave proposed under a gazebo in the pouring rain along the Kancamagus Highway in New Hampshire. His original plan was to propose the previous day after we hiked to the top of Mt. Washington, but due to the notoriously unpredictable weather at the summit, he had to improvise!
From the beginning, we both knew we wanted a beach destination wedding with our closest family and friends. Being a destination wedding, the planning process was, to our pleasant surprise, simple, easy, and fun! We got married on the Renaissance Private Island in Aruba. Our wedding week was more perfect than we could have imagined. The week started with a Kukoo Kunuku party bus pub crawl and a catamaran snorkel welcome cruise with all our guests. On the day of the wedding, our guests took a short boat ride to the Renaissance island where we had a sunset ceremony on the beach with our feet in the sand and the flamingos squawking behind us as we exchanged vows. The island transformed for the reception as the steel drum played and the pig roast was served during cocktail hour. The dinner and dancing began after the sun set and bistro lights lit up the dance floor above us. It was everything we could have hoped for and more.
