Just a little inspiration story for all those couples who have had to postpone their wedding due to Covid-19. My husband and I were due to get married on 27th July 2018. We had everything planned and ready to go. However all our planning came to an end when I was diagnosed with Cancer 10 weeks before our wedding. I was given a date for major surgery on 11th July, therefore we had to make the decision to postpone it. This was a very difficult decision as we had spent two years planning for our dream day but it was definitely the right thing to do as would not have been fit to get married on our original date. Fast forward three months and I had well recovered from my surgery and the planning began again! We set a new date for 9th February 2019.
I had originally picked the dress style 2061 as I loved the simplicity of it and the fabric but this dress had short sleeves and would not have been suitable for a winter wedding in Ireland! So I had to get my thinking cap on! Along with my fantastic wedding dress supplier, Jenny Lindop, we decided to order some material from Mikaella and make my dress into a long sleeve dress. Mikaella was brilliant and sent this material ASAP. Jenny got to work and added the sleeves for me. My dress ended up being my absolute dream dress! It was so easy to wear.
Our wedding day was a beautiful day from start to finish, made even more magical from our postponement. So if you are a bride who has had to postpone my advice is , don’t panic – your day will come and it will be even more magical.
